Photos are timeless, allowing the photographer to capture people, places and moments in time preserving them as a moment in time for future viewers to relive. The photos in the posts and galleries of this site represent three decades of work by the photographer and author.
Terry Hale, a resident, native Texan, has traveled through much of the continental United States, the Canadian territories and the vast state of Alaska over the past three decades and has captured the vastness and variety of not only his native state but also of much of North America, first on film and then digitally. Many of the early photos were taken on 35mm film and are represented on this site by high-resolution scans. After switching to digital photography in 2004, most photos were taken with a DSLR camera but a few candid moments have been captured with the high-resolution marvel that is the modern smartphone! What you see here are some of the best places, moments and images of North America over the past 30+ years.
